II-I. DAVID WESLEY SIBERT (1848 – 1917), son of George Sibert2 (John David1)

David Wesley Sibert was born on 11 February 1848. [1][2] He died on 25 January 1917. [1][2] He married Mary Elizabeth Ferguson on 24 December 1872 in Lincoln County, Georgia. [3] He is buried in the Sharon Methodist Church Cemetery in Sharon. [2] Mary was born on 6 or 24 November 1852 in South Carolina. [1][2] She died on 28 May 1885, presumably of complications of childbirth, in Sharon, Taliaferro County, Georgia. [1][2] She is buried in the Flanigan Cemetry in Lincoln County, Georgia. [2]

According to the census, in 1880, Wesley, aged 31, and Mary, aged 26, lived in Lincoln County with Lillie, aged six and Wesley, aged one month. Wesley was a farmer. [4]

Wesley might be the D.W. Sibert—a 61-year-old widower, born in South Carolina—who lived as a servant in the household of John A. Till in Falls County, Texas. He was a hostler in a yard. [4]

Children of David Wesley Sibert and Mary Elizabeth Ferguson:

II-I-1. Lillie Mae Sibert was born on 25 May 1874. She died on 20 December 1944. She married Eugene Bismark Moore.

II-I-2. George Franklin Sibert was born on 12 May 1880. He died on 21 July 1912 [1] or 20 July 1913. This son must be the one-month-old "Wesley" in the 1880 census.

A George F. Sibert, aged 32 and born in Lincoln County, Georgia, enlisted in the 22 Company U.S. Cavalry in 1911. He was discharged on 24 April 1912 at Washington, D.C. for disability. [5] This George was buried in Arlington National Cemetery. His gravestone says he died on 20 July 1913. [2] The 22 July 1913 Times Herald reported the death of 34-year-old George F. Sibert at the Government Hospital for the Insane. [6]

II-I-3. Flora Corinne Sibert was born on 20 March 1883 in Georgia. She died on 18 March 1959 in Wilkes County, Georgia. She married Thomas Seals Darden.

II-I-4. Unknown Daughter Sibert was born on 6 or 26 May 1885 and died on 1 June 1885. [1][2] She is buried in the Flanigan Cemetery. [2]
